Cycling routes in the Sabotin area - biking to the front

Sabotin pe¹Sabotin and its neighboring peaks are also of interest to cyclists. The steep slopes just above the Soča were an important bulwark in the defense of Gorizia and the Gorizia bridgehead.

The trails are thus steep for the most part and scattered with traces from the First World War.

Sabotin, Sveta Gora, ©kabrijel... these are the three pock-marked mountains which sustained heavy shelling. Conquer them by bike, get to know a piece of their memory, and pay homage to the heroes.

Five routes have been selected for you, of which three are loops. They will lead to interesting records and traces of the First World War.

The route up ©kabrijel can be combined with an ascent of its summit on foot.

All of the routes are of medium to high difficulty. We recommend using a mountain bike.

Until the signing of the agreement on free crossing of the border between Slovenia and Italy and the establishment of a mountain border crossing we recommend not taking cross-border loop trails on Sabotin.
